Subject	Got a strange one

Message	So I did a boost leak test and found something coming from the EGR area. Did some feeling around back there since its hard to see and it turns out that the top hose of the EGR is actually disconnected and feels like the hose has been plugged with some sort of sealant. So on the EGR itself there is nothing connected to that top port that leads towards the passenger side. Needless to say, there is air just dumping out of there EGR. Nothing coming out of the disconnected hose though since its been plugged. I guess my question is, are there any ill effects to this? Or is this some redneck method of disabling it that the previous owner did?
